Great products but don't play nice with 10
The router & extender work great. My main blueray player is now hardwired to the extender for uninterrupted service with Netflix, etc. We now have 4 wireless connections - 2 and 5g - 2 for upstairs and 2 for downstairs with the extender. We also have a 10/100 connection at the extender and a 10/100/1000 hard connection at the router. Great coverage throughout the house for our devices. We do not game so I can't comment o that.
Here is a bit of info to pass onto future customers on installation to save you lots of time.
Spent 6 hours trying to install via my new HP ENVY windows 10 laptop with a gen5 I7 chip. spoke to 3 different folks at geek squad. could not connect to router to install. could not load netgear genie. they weren't a big help. I was ready to send it back to seller.
Finally I tried to install using my old dell windows 7 laptop. there seems to be an issue installing with 10 or with the highspeed chip in my new laptop. Using 7 it installed right away with no issues and took about 25 minutes. Set up the extender in the same room you set up the router. Then move extender to its final location after you have it working. much easier. after it was working I was able to install the netgear genie on the HP ENVY.
I then was able to use it with my new laptop and also then could load the netgear genie.
