Not a good DC power source for radios
1 of 8 found this helpful To preface: I got this to be a bench top power supply hoping for somewhere near to the upper range of 12 volts. Others seem to have found 12.6, 12.8, with these supplies, unloaded. No-load voltage was 12.2, slight load (about 10-20 watts: just turning the radio on) was 11.9, and adding an additional 10-20 watts (transmitting at 5-10 watts) dropped the voltage below 11.8, which reset the radio. Even adjusting the voltage pot only saw a max no-load voltage of 12.5 to 12.6, slight load 12.3, slightly more load back to 11.9.
Maybe this works if the low 12’s or high 11’s is adequate for your projected use. However, this is not an inexpensive solution for radio work.
Otherwise, the device worked fine and was in good repair.
