Great, actually
I was surprised to see in an interview with Hugh Grant about the time "Notting Hill" came out that Richard Curtis is considered sort of a workaday comedy writer in the UK. Curtis is that and more and "Love, Actually" might very well be his masterpiece. "Love Actually" is a Christmas story for the 21st Century with roots deeply planted in Dickensian sentiment. If Dickens reminded us that "it is good to be children sometimes, and never better than at Christmas", Curtis' message is "it is good to love someone and be loved, and never better than at Christmas". Curtis' Christmas pudding gives us writers, actors, children, parents, brothers, sisters -- and even the Prime Minister all caught in the act of discovering that statement to be true. The DVD product itself scores in the extras department with interview material and the music video of "The Trouble with Love" by Kelly Clarkson. I rate "Love, Actually" among my top Christmas movies (along with "It's a Wonderful Life", the Alistair Sim "A Christmas Carol" and "Comfort and Joy") and I am glad to finally own a copy.

There's something about this movie
"Mary" represents the best of the Farrelly Brothers millieu: outrageous comedy that isn't afraid to touch on the offensive but with a great warmth and humanity underneath. I saw this movie twice in the theater, once on my own and again with my then teen-age son in tow. The movie gets a lot of airplay on FX and FXHD but even in HD it's not as satisfying with bleeps and commercials. I finally decided to get my own copy and am very happy with the decision. If you, too, have fond memories of this film -- or even if you've never seen it but love great comedy -- I highly recommend shopping eBay today to get your own DVD.
Pentax-DA 50-200mm F4-5.6 ED with Pentax K Mount

Great addition to your lens set
Sometimes you just need to tighten in on a subject when physically moving closer isn’t available. That reality means a 50mm-200mm zoom is the perfect companion to the 18mm-55mm lens that usually comes with a camera. This unit is great for DA and Pentax K-mount compatible cameras. I like that the glare protector mounts backwards on the unit until needed. That’s so much handier than having to dive back into the bag for it. You won’t be able to take close ups of the moon with a 200mm but some enchanted evening when you see a stranger across a crowded room you will be able to zoom in for a nice headshot.
