Good speakers

Ambitious but not engaging
0 of 2 found this helpful This movie will satisfy any Civil War enthusiast but Ron Maxwell could have done so much better with this movie. One of the major flaws honestly is the score. Randy Edelman's dramatic and rousing music from Gettysburg didn't make an appearance in this movie. The movie could have used a little more balance between the stories of the North and South but I understand that this movie was to focus on the career and life of "Stonewall" Jackson. The extended version footage is excellent. It helps round out the story quite well. I feel bad for actors Chris Conner and Cooper Huckabee whose scenes as John Wilkes Booth and Henry Harrison were omitted from the theatrical version of this film but are now inserted into the extended cut. It's a shame this movie failed miserably at the box office. It pretty much ended any hope that the third movie in this trilogy will ever be made.
