Re-ignite your old passion for Steve and Genesis
2 of 2 found this helpful Okay so I'm biased, but I just don't understand why Steve's long and musically brilliant career does not receive more attention? This was produced to satisfy the obvious demand at Steve's concerts (if you ever get chance don't miss out!)for classic (early years)Genesis stuff, of which of course Steve played no small part.
At first you might think why does this or that track not sound exactly as before, clearly for one thing the vocals will be different, but eventually you will succumb to these magnificent indeed, dare I say improved (whoops I said it!) versions.
For me the highlights are the truly operatic and massive 'Watcher of the Skies'and the dark, moody and incredible treatment of 'Dancing on a Volcano'. The latter led me to buying the brilliant, modern and moody sounding 'Darktown' album by steve (2005)- a must have for steve fans!
PS he has a new album 'Out of the Tunnels Mouth' (2009) which is full of musical experimentation, lovely melodies, harmonies and of course the trademark soaring hackett's axe guitar.
ENJOY - you know you will!
