Old School / New School
I like the looks and build quality of this product. I still needed to ware gloves to put the track together. It was ether that or have cut hands. And I still like to the old school track for the kind of trains I run. Mostly 50s and 60s era trains.

Control Lionel trains with this base station and MTH DCS
Worked perfect for controlling my Lionel TMCC train using my MTH DCS controller.
You do need to purchase a separated cable however; MTH TIU/TMCC-Legacy 6' Connector Cable for Lionel Trains Legacy System # 50-1032 and you will need a single wire to connect to the command base and MTH DCS controller. This single wire is for ground. Simple speaker wire works. I connected mine directly to the track, this worked better for me than connecting it to the MTH DCS controller.
My Lionel TMCC train had limited sounds. Chug chug. I can turn the lights on and off. I can go forward and reverse. I can run two trains at once but the speed on each train needs to be controlled separately. The speed control for all trains at once only works for your MTH trains.
