Defective but fixable
Part was a previously installed new part that did not work because it had been put together wrong, but I was able to disassemble it and properly reassemble it. Now it works fine and will hopefully last for decades. Doubt the seller knew the part was defective.

This Part Needs Needs a Redesign
The basic design is good, but the vent system needs work. I am going to weld up a boss on the back side for where the existing vent nipple screws in and then drill and tap it to take a 1/2 pipe tread fitting. Will then use a 1/2 mpt x 3/4" hose elbow as a fitting which will allow the use of the original size vent hose.

Could be improved at no cost to the manufacturer.
1 of 1 found this helpful The bore in the pipe thread end of the fitting is smaller than it needs to be potentially reducing flow in my application which has a very low pressure head. I drilled it out to give a wall thickness the same as for Schedule 80 pipe, which gave about a 35% increase in cross sectional area.
