The Redcat Ascent 18 platform has kind of an odd battery configuration, and these batteries are the perfect fit. They are slightly thinner than the next most useful choice (the Gens Ace 800mAh version), which is very helpful when repositioning the battery. The 750mAh battery will power a crawler for quite a while. In terms of real-world crawling conditions, we are talking well over 45 minutes of driving time. Great batteries.

The Cadillac of Oscillators
The VEC-254 is a better quality version of the MFJ-554, which retails for $99.95. It actually uses the same board inside. However, the knobs are of higher quality, and the case looks better. The only modification I chose to do was to add washers between the case and speaker to cut down on some of the harmonic resonance & light buzzing (only occurs when using some audio frequencies).
