Good book, difficult to put down.
This is a very witty travel book. I Like Vitaliev's style of writing. Everything you didn't know about the drinking habits of ourselves and fellow Europeans. It is scary what some will drink!

A must for those seeking answers to the borders between history, archealogy
This book may not suit everybody's expectations. If you are expecting a thriller then this isn't the book for you. Based on historical and archaeological fact with a good liberal dose of Biblical drama and theorising thrown in, all in all a good book. Particularly interesting is how fact plays a big part in Old Testament events and the correlation between this and historical and provable fact.
I sought this used book out because I had read it originally in 1998 and loaned it to a friend who failed to return it. The book contents have resurfaced in my readings since and I then found it difficult to source.
Well worth the read, particularly in light of current archaeological findings coming out of Egypt today.
