Universal Folding Portable Stand Bracket Holder Mount for Tablet Notebook Laptop
Jun 03, 2017
Portable and lightweight stand, but not without glaring build-quality issues
It's a lightweight stand you can tuck into your laptop bag. But I don't recommend this stand to anyone who wants to use it with a heavy (read: over 3 lb) device. It seems like it'll work fine for lightweight tablets, netbooks, 2-in-1s and laptops, but certainly not for heavy Thinkpads and the like. It's all plastic to my knowledge so if it snaps in a few weeks under the weight of my old Thinkpad I wouldn't be surprised.
But even if you're going to be using it with lighter devices, be warned: the plastic feet at the bottom are loose and may snap off if you try to slide them into a tighter fit. The black pads come off all too easily as well, right off with the glue that adheres them to the feet.
Plus, the right side is way more loose than the left side. I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be like that. The plastic is rather rough and isn't sanded down like it should be. Heavy laptops are difficult to position on the stand sometimes because the thing is so light and loose. The loose right side screws everything up. It also leaves marks on my white desk.
I've actually had better results using it upside down than right-side up. What the heck? At least it stays in place upside down. What a weird little product, certainly not worth $5.60. At least, if you have a big computer like my 15.6 inch, 6 lb+ Thinkpad. Tablets should be fine.
Another caveat: you can't adjust the stand's height. So you're stuck with it. I tried the other variations but they don't make a difference. The stand doesn't even stay in those positions.
You can get better laptop stands for cheaper. Don't buy this, especially if your desk is a lighter color. This nasty thing leaves marks, as mentioned before.
