Brewing a caramel macchiato

I’ve been using this model for over 15 years, I’ve only had one break, I found another one on eBay. I brew caramel macchiato on it for 30 cents a cup the size of a travel mug. I tried the recipe in the manual and the one I found on Starbucks website and I use the Starbucks recipe, love it. When I’m not going to use it for more than 3 days I make sure all the water is out, leave the cap off and turn it upside down that way you don’t get that musty taste when you use it again. If I’m gone longer than 3 days I run vinegar through the brew cycle and then plain water 3 times and it’s ready to use. No complicated cleaning steps.
