Preowned = Better Value
If you can find a used cap in excellent condition like this one was, you will save some money. Anything branded and made by Nikon is going to have a heftier price--which, in some cases is justifiable, given the quality of their products. But, a lens cap is still just a piece of plastic, and if you want the brand name on it, expect an inflated price. "Preowned" helps to mitigate that, somewhat.
