Works great. Seems very well designed from a techinal perspective.
1 of 1 found this helpful It works great with my vera system. The relays are much more quiet than my previous thermostat. On its own even without hooking up to z wave its very flexible for the different types if hvac systems.
The only thing that Ive noticed is it doesnt broadcast manual changes made at the device itself until the room temperature changes, but this is nice because it probably saves on battery usage that way. It may work quicker if I was using a C wire, but currently my house doesnt have one hooked up. I may add one in the future depending on how long the batteries last.
(Update: 3 months is how long the batteries last for me. I ended up adding the C wire because of the short battery life and the bad way in which it acts when the batteries get low. There was only 1 day of warning between when I received a low battery alert and the batteries going completely dead.)
For now I enjoy being able to turn on and off the heat from my bed. Super nice!

Good budget zwave dimmer for older homes and lights.
I've used an older version of this dimmer for years. I have an older house that doesn't have neutrals so this works really well for my application.
I purchased a set of newer dimmers and found that they have a firmware that behaves differently than the older version I've been using. The dimmer will not fade up to a specified level when controlled via my zwave hub (vera edge). It instantly jumps to the set level instead of nicely fading to the value. I am currently looking into seeing if I can script around the issue. Depending on the firmware there appears to be a property that can be set on the dimmer that will re-enable the soft fade, but apparently the version of firmware I have doesn't have that property available.
These are nice dimmers, but I wish they had maintained the original soft dimming behavior across all their firmware versions. I knocked one star off because of that.

Great deal
Works well, I like how the load sensing can be turned on/off (similar plugs are not configurable).
