Didn't last very long

My husband needed a different phone. I bought this for him. It was a great phone, I even wanted to trade him. He learned how to use it.Then after 5 weeks it quit working. Won't power on. I even bought a new battery thinking this was the problem. Not working. Now I have to get him another one. I really don't know what to say on recommendation. I have read reviews from others that said this has happened to them and that it cannot be fixed.
