Noisy Hard Drive, Not Suitable For Music Rigs
1 of 6 found this helpful I bought this for my music rig, I do headphones (open back) listening, this drive has a lot of noise and is always going to sleep when there is no operation. It is slow, it takes about 2-3 seconds to read files when coming back from sleep. Read/write speed is good on USB 3.0 ports. I am thinking to stick to my 3 TB backup drive which does not require an external power supply and is fairly fast and silent in operation. The size is huge, and is not at all portable because of the external power supply. If you have a 12V battery, you can power is up and take it outside. Overall, it is good for backup files, not for listening music from it on your rig.
