Foam "Pilot" Antenna Ball

These comments apply to an antenna ball that looks like a yellow smiley face wearing a leather pilot helmet and goggles. The goofiness of the thing seems to bring a smile to everyone who sees it. It hasn't fallen off the antenna or come apart at highway speeds, so that's good too. I like it.

I held this up against my MX-5 s factory...

I held this up against my MX-5 s factory antenna and down to the tiniest, barely persceptable details it is identical. I m calling this OEM without the Mazda packaging. Purchase with confidence.

After extensive use, I'm still happy.

I don't move mine, so I can't be authoritative in judging the strength of hinges. If I did, they would be a concern. I wish the air filter was replaceable. Sooner or later it's going to get clogged. Then what do I do? I wouldn't worry about weight, it's not that heavy. I'm happy with the suction of the fan and the motor's noise isn't loud enough to be a bother to me. I've discovered in using it that the LED lighting, in my opinion, is critical and I'm glad mine has it. The little Lazy Susan turntable is a nice feature too.
