A great laptop at a great price (with 2 year Manufacturer's Warranty)
I bought this solid unit for $500 just before Christmas 2019, it has everything you could want in a good laptop:
i5 - while not as powerful as an i7, it's more power efficient and for games you don't actually need that much power (unless you're doing a game that's super dependent on single thread performance)
1050ti - a very sizable gpu which is sort of upper low range of nvidia gpus? If Ryzen wasn't dependent on always coming with AMD GPUs it would be a very different story on what laptop to buy, but since nvidia is the undisputed king of GPUs right now, it's pretty hard to avoid it.
Price and Warranty - This unit comes with a 2 year warranty from Dell itself, which was a question I had looking at this. The biggest competitor to buying this laptop from here is Dell's own Dell Outlet where they sell refurbished and used PCs direct with a 5 year warranty. However, they sell the model *below* this one, with the 1050 (non-TI) for greater than 600ish. (and I just checked and they've actually completely removed the G3 entirely, you can only get the super new G5 with a 1650 for greater than $650 at time of posting)
Upgradability - This laptop comes default with a 1tb HDD but for about $60 new, you can get a m.2 SSD to make it *MUCH* faster. It also has an open SODIMM slot for additional memory.
All in all, a great little laptop for a great price.
