More environmentally-friendly coffee, although with more sediment than I prefer
I bought this permanent filter with the hope of giving the big heave-ho to paper filters forever. However, after just the first use, I noticed that the brewed coffee had more sediment than with paper filters; as did my cup of coffee. While I am a true java-fiend, who drinks Turkish coffee --with intentional finely ground sediment on the bottom of the cup, and will drink even bad coffee over no coffee (yes, I would drink mud if it tasted of coffee), I confess that I do not prefer the American style of coffee with sediment. However, it could be that my coffee grounds are too fine, so I will try this permanent filter again when I switch to a new bag of grounds. AND whether the brew then has sediment or not, I will likely hold on to this filter for the off chance that I run out of paper filters.
