Beyond awesome.
1 of 1 found this helpful I'd received this game through a trade with someone, and little did I know what I was in for. I truly can say that this game is one of the best games I've ever played, and remains one of my favorite games ever. This game marked my initial introduction to the Final Fantasy series and turn-based RPGs, and I'm honestly glad it was this one. The gameplay isn't all that difficult or confusing, the storyline is interesting, and its replay value is very, very high.
The leveling up system is rather linear, as party members learn moves on their own. It's great for people who are new to these sort of games, as it gives you more time to focus on strategies to use in battles with your party members, giving you some time to get used to the gameplay. Game difficulty increases throughout the game as your party levels up and you continue to progress, so it's important to make sure your party is kept strong.
This game was released originally in 1991 on the Super Nintendo, and was re-made for the original Playstation, WonderSwan Color, and then came this GBA re-make. The graphics are great and are almost timeless--they've aged very well since '05. The colors are vivid and show off the Game Boy Advance's capabilities very well. Although DS, PSP and WiiWare versions have been released since, this version should not be disregarded by any means.
