Works like it should on a Delta Rockwell wood lathe.
The stub on the tool rest was a bit long for my lathe so I cut it off to the right length.
Now it works perfectly with my machine.
I would buy the item again, and the product is exactly what it should be.

Right price for what you get
The taper reamer was not de-burred and the finish wasn't spectacular.
I wont fall all over myself telling everyone what a nice tool it is, but I do think the tool is acceptable considering what I paid for it.

I'm happy with it.
I put this tool post on a Grizzly lathe/mill combo I sold to a close friend and it works just fine. And believe it or don't, he makes decent garage type products on the Grizzly. He uses it mostly for general shop use, knife making, and setting pins on knife handles.
I am a hobby machinist also and I have other lathes with wedge type tool posts. I have often read that these piston types are not as good... I dont see a difference and I guess I would be happy to buy another piston type if I was buying for my own tool and not for one I intended to sell. Some people discount the quality of the tool post if it is piston type and dont give it a chance.
I would say, don't stretch your budget out of shape to buy a wedge type tool post, believing a wedge type provides a noticeable difference... That simply hasn't been my experience.
And if you are going to shell out the money for a name brand like a genuine Aloris, then I guess you are a gen-you-whine machinist and/or probably have an alligator logo on your polo shirt too.
