I looked into the situation further and found out why it arrived in generic brown packaging. The specific unit sent to you was stored in a warehouse, which repackaged it into a smaller generic brown box to make shipping cheaper. I tried my best to find a resolution that would be satisfactory and offered a refund if you sent the unit back over (with shipping covered by me). However, this never happened as a refund request was not sent.

Cool, but better modded
The Vita is quite a good console to use despite its age. My main issue with it however is the somewhat lackluster catalauge of titles, especially when it comes to Sony's first-party studios, who only released a of couple games. There are a couple of gems here and there though. Once it's modded though, that's when the console really opens up. You can play PS1 titles, abandon the proprietary storage, download Homebrew, etc.
