The best CD release of this classic Live album!
Thanks to a friend, I've heard that this exact release of Bowie's "David Live" is THE best sounding release of this classic 1974 album. And true enough, it sounds even more powerful and detailed than the vinyl. So I'm very happy to have this. When it comes to the performance/music; well - it has a certain charm and quality; it's facinating to listen to; BUT: it's nowhere near the hights Bowie would reach in his live performances of 1976 and 1978. Bowie was really lost in 1974, performancewise - like if he was very uncurtain of himself about which direction to take....combined with a real bad coke-habit.
All in all; you NEED this live album, but ONLY after being familiar with the greatness Bowie was capable of in the 70s.....otherwise this somewhat gay-sounding (but still very nice) live album might scare you off.
