Lots of ports but gets hot.

It does add a lot of ports to your macbook and saves having a bunch of dongles. It would be best for a macbook with only two thunderbolt ports. Unfortunately it gets very hot, does not allow for the extension of two monitors. (for this you need the Hyperdrive that connects to two usb-c ports (Sanho HyperDrive Duo USB-C Hub for MacBook )
