Decent tripod for the money
I have had a few decent tripods over the years. After closing the business and selling all my gear three years ago, I thought i was don;t with larger tripods. But in walks a kids wanting a favor, so I recently started filming youtube vids for my daughter.
Not wanting to spend a lot, I tried this video tripod and was a little disappointed, but was able to fix the problems.
The head is crap. One piece crazy weird plastic ball-thing that I could not use. Very sloppy and loose, head plate attached like a 3 year old designed it.
I still have my old box of camera junk from 25 years in business. Every extra plate, head, screw, bolt, wing nut and extension piece I ever ran across.
I used my chop saw and cut the non-removeable head off. The thing is one large piece of molded plastic that does not come off easily.
I then JB Welded an old Manofrod center pole in the middle and mounted a 3 inch steel washer to it for stability. An old video head (Bogen) was mount to it for attaching a camera.
Not perfect, but it works well and hold camera up to 10 pounds. I built a one piece video mount for camera and lights. makes consistent lighting and easy set up.
If you don't mind a crappy plastic tripod head that is VERY wobbly and not replaceable or interchangeable, this is fine as is. If you want to tinker a bit, it can become a usable tool for semi-professional use.

Nice little dart gun I bought for a Halloween prop
The darts stick to mirrors or glass easily. But I bought it as a costume prop. Works well and fits into a real firearm holster with ease.
