Only use if there is no way to get a larger speaker to fit!
I chose this speaker because there was no other speaker that would fit in the shell of the locomotive. I have used sugar-cube speakers before and they have far superior sound. Unfortunately I needed something thinner for this application. I was hopping to get decent sound and only sacrifice volume. Unfortunately all qualities were sacrificed. The sounds were cheep sounding. The same decoder with a sugar-cube gave a decent quality sound. With a larger round speaker was clear and loud. I have heard Soundtraxx ones at my local hobby shop that are better than this but they were unavailable at the time to purchase. I have had success with other MRC speakers but not this one.
