No Ghost Reveries, but a dark and somber turn all the same
1 of 1 found this helpful Watershed is a departure from older Opeth albums. It has glimpses of the majesty Ghost Reveries had, but it moves to a quieter, more peaceful place. There's still darkness and sorrow, still sweeping soundscapes, but missing is the guitar crunch and blatant anger. It is still very enjoyable, but don't buy it thinking you are going to catch any riffs and want to crank the volume. This is an album that slowly surrounds you and sneaks up on you.
