Useless
1. My expectations weren't high for this item, since the cost was only $20, but it was even more poorly constructed than I expected it to be.
2. The "stop music" is a tinny, annoying "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" that plays continuously whenever the lid is open. It will drive you crazy very quickly.
3. The instructions, translated from Chinese, are beyond useless.
4. I could have overlooked all of these issues if the item worked. But when I inserted the tape and closed the lid, nothing happened. I tried everything I could to make it operate.

May not work with all media
2 of 3 found this helpful The only issue I have with this recorder is that it only works with certain media. It works fine with some older DVDs I have, but not a newer, inkjet printable DVD. Both are DVD-R, 4.7 GB, 16x. I don't see a difference in the specs, but the player seems to. And it just gives a very generic error message that isn't helpful.
