The Source for all things Ufological
Jerome Clark's Encyclopedia is the most comprehensive single work on the field. If you are someone who is genuinely interested in the history of the UFO phenomenon, or somehow actively involved in it, then it's a essential part of the library. Overall the Encylopedia is amazing in regards to the breadth and deth of detail. It concentrates stories and details that would require spending serveral hours at a time on the internet, reading old MUFON journals, or digging through dozens of shorter inferior works, into one reference point. The entries are generally article length. They cover a borad range of topics from the field, not just sightings etc, but the personalities and phenomenon that surround it. The author when possible, tries to provide as accurate a presentation as possible, pointing out when something has been deemed a hoax, was suspiscious, etc. In Ufology, it's usually very difficult to separate the myth of something from the facts, and Clark does a good job overall. The organziation of the book is a double edge sword. If you are reading it for 'educational' purposes then it makes sense. It is divided into broader categories such as abductions, crashed objects (those aren't exact), in several cases, which requires going to the index to find a specific incident. The good news is, everything you wanted to know about anyone thing is included in extensively annotated articles. As far as a comprehensive history of ugology, it's a monster. weighing it about 4 lbs, and 1100 pages in two volumes. Given that most books on the subject are...lax with standards...this is a refreshing suprise. The main drawback is the price. I got it for a very good price on half.com after waiting for a long time. It can however, cost well over 200 dollars. Unfortunately, I am unaware of any plans for a softcover or reprinting. I rated it a 4 because of drawbacks in the setup, and a few of the entries.

The Art of Kong: Skull Island by Simon Ward: New

In Kong, concept art is King.
An in depth look at the concept art and production design for the film. I purchased this specifically for more detail on the linear digital designs of the island tribe, and wasn't disappointed. The majority of the memorable images from the film have their concept art included as well as commentary from the creative team.

Excellent copy of a series and binding I'm familiar with. SecondSale is becoming a go to for used books.
