Good Detail but not Perfect
I have all of Orion's recently released Vietnam 1:72 figures. They were panned by the reviewer of the Plastic Soldier Review site, but I think they deserve better. While there are some problems with some weapon dimensions, and some imperfectly molded faces and hands, these figures, generally, have good poses and good to excellent detail detail of uniforms and webbing.
I do recommend the entire series.

Indispensable Information for the Military Buff
The Military Force Balance Annual Reviews have become much better over the years. They are fairly reliable compendia of the world's military force inventories, as well as they identify procurement and reform trends in the major military powers, as well as regional developments. Given that they cover all militaries of the world, they are not too detailed. For example you will not find information on the sub-types of weapon systems in service, nor any TO&E's. Also, unarmored military transports are ignored.
I recommend supplementing these volumes with a good military technology news service, like MilitaryLeaks.
It's good to get them used, because prices for new ones are really high.
