    1366x768 or figure it out
When hooking this up, there is a risk your computers will see an unknown display that is only capable of 1366x768. If you are using that resolution, no biggie. If you aren't using that resolution, you can have trouble. Unfortunately we are still running 1024x768 which was a problem in setup for us. But try swapping your VGA cables around, between devices, and even end-to-end. Input 1 reads output A for default device info and input 2 reads output C for default device info. Make sure all 4 of your output displays are intended for the same resolution, and that both of your inputs are outputting the same resolution. Once you have it set up, you are basically deciding what each display receives: green for input 1, red for input 2, or off. Works great for what I'm doing, sending a power point to 4 displays, or sending a blank screen (instead of off signal). One screen is for the speaker, so when he is running over on time, I can switch just his screen to black (background from 2nd computer) and drag a text document over onto that display that only he can see, and type him messages like "time is up". Overall, works well. I would recommend for a 4x multiplier or multiplexer. Once set up, works well.

High quality meets portability demands. Meet the D430.
Quality, Quality, Quality. There is a good reason the latitude d-series laptops have stuck around. They were made with quality in mind, and have an appearance that still looks decent and not dated. The D430 is the smallest of the D-series (D430, D630, & D830) so it has the most stripped down of capabilities (max 1.33ghz, 2gb ram, 1.8" zif pata hd), but holds it's own against any other systems in the same weight/size category. 12 inch screen is a fine size, and with 1280x800 res, you actually have a sharper picture, with the same amount of desktop pixels. The battery life is decent, and exceptionally good with the 9-cell battery, but I don't personally like how the 9-cell sticks out in front. Physically, you can carry this in any thicker-type portfolio designed to hold 8.5x11 notepads, because it's about the same dimensions as a regular notepad (a little longer, and a bit narrower). Pros: D-series docking capabilities (port replicator D-port or with drive bay D-dock) as well as it's own media-base, which can stay on or be your docking station if you choose. Standard memory (though, remember it's 2gb max, with only one accessible slot, and you're 1 gb chip to install needs to be 2Rx8[lower density] not 2Rx16[higher density], to work). Plenty of necessary ports, and great physical appearance. Core 2 Duo ULV processors at 1.06, 1.2, or 1.33ghz save on power consumption but have enough horsepower for most common tasks, videos, internet, office, moderate games. (I used my 1.2 with 2gb ram exclusively on-the-go for video editing with Pinnacle Studio, worked great.) The casing is strong and sturdy, so it feels like it's built well, and holds together with rugged use (I've used one in my company truck for over a year, mounted like in the police cars, and the screen hinges are still strong and tight). Cons: Odd 1.8" ZIF 4200rpm, and usually smaller capacity(40-60gig), hard drive. Yes, you can replace with SSD, to cut power consumption and get some performance increase, but standard 2.5" hd capability would be nice (but would also increase the size and weight of the unit, too). Hot side is the right at the bottom, where the fan is, and these can et pretty warm. Best to set it on something rather than]your lap, but I have also experienced that most laptops get hot, or have hot spots somewhere on them. The only hot-spot on this is at the right at the bottom. Everything else stays relatively cool. I know this is an older system, so it was designed before alot of people realized that they work in the dark, and need a backlit keyboard, but if I was ever going to improve one thing, I would make an after-market backlit keyboard that could replace the standard one. Other than that, this size and design of system was well thought out and put together well. For it's age and design, it's perfect.
