Need a light duty drill press? Try this one.
I purchased this to drill-out chess pieces so that I could load them. It works. The black plastic ring that rests below the press is excellent at halting the drill, so you get a precise depth each time. It held my Ryobi hammer drill flawlessly. It comes with a hex wrench to tighten all the fittings that fit in a holster on the side. The shipping crate was a bit sub-par as the hex wrench holster was damaged in shipping, but the rest of the drill press was in good order. The only part I had trouble with is the top bolt that holds the entire assembly. It also doubles as the hinge pin that allows the drill press to drop down. That is a lot of stress on this inferior bolt, and after a few dozen adjustments, I stripped it out. I was able to acquire a replacement nut and bolt that fit from a local hardware store, and they are working just fine. All in all, this is an excellent hobby drill press.

Great for holding delicate items
For holding small delicate parts, this vise is excellent. It is the four cylindrical plastic pads on top of this vise that make all the difference. I purchased longer machine screws (8-10) with nuts to elevate the pads to hold chess pieces for drilling. It works great. It does take a bit of fiddling to get it to secure the item, but I wasn't using it as designed either. There are mounts on the bottom to bolt it down to your workbench, and it is sturdy. It came from China, so it takes a while to arrive. The only problem I experienced with it was after tightening it a couple of dozen times the plastic hand wheel came off. I was able to screw it back on with a little effort, and it is still working. It is an excellent value for hobby or jewelry work.
