Very Good Holster
I generally don't do reviews, but as this had no reviews I figured I'd help you guys out. My main goto holsters for my G22 is a Don Hume belt and DeSantis paddle both are leather thumb break holsters. I needed to replace the paddle. This is my first Tagua holster. I was a little concerned prior to ordering for 3 reasons.
1. The thumb break is under the tang. After putting my G22 in the holster and dry drawing with it, I really like how the thumb break sits and operates. I have a little trouble snapping it one handed without looking because the angle is different, but this will come with repetition.
2. I am being transitioned to the G19 soon and I didn't want to drop the cash on a short term holster. I tested a G19 and it fits perfectly. The G22 barrel comes right to the end of the leather while the 19 barrel is 1/2 short of it. Other than that the fit is perfect.
3. The paddle is smaller than the DeSantis and has a belt fold-over part. I was afraid this would be unstable while running or uncomfortable otherwise. This holster is much more stable than the DeSantis. I can run and move and it holds very tight. It's still a paddle, but it is very stable. It is comfortable enough. Carrying a G22 is not comfortable anyway so, there's that.
Overall, I love this holster. The color is interesting, the leather is very well worked, the stitching is tight and, the holster can be canted to your style. Don't hesitate to buy this if you prefer a leather thumb break. As long as it holds up after a few years of wear I think it is easily worth the $40.00 I paid.
