Having lived in the midwest, Texas, Rhode Island, Vermont, and now Connecticut, I am a lifelong collector of various and sundry interesting bits of history: early American folk portraits, silhouettes, silver, rare books, sterling shaving mugs, early frames, Tiffany glass, miniature clocks, bird nests, and so on. Our house, built in 1699, looks a bit like Thomas Jefferson, Martha Stewart, and Laura Ashely got into fisticuffs and finally called a truce, each one "winning." With no family interested in my collections, I am slowly downsizing to be sure nothing wonderful ends up at the curb.

Detailed but easy to follow, great pacing.
As a "first-timer" attempting to clean and repair a 200 hundred year old clock with wooden works the whole process is rather daunting. But Al's video and step-by-step instructions brings comfort that I really can do this. I've taken copious notes along the way (what's that part called again?), which really helps. I'm just starting the process and am very pleased! Ephraim Downs would be pleased to know that some 200 years later his clock is on the mend.

Perfect for the novice or someone well-schooled in Persian cuisine
Excellent cookbook filled with hundreds of excellent Persian recipes. I appreciate that many have remained true to traditional ingredients rather than modernizing with the addition of the minute. Beautifully illustrated. Some may be intimidated by such a wide variety of herbs and spices prescribed in many recipes; don't be! Many will be used over and over.
