Replaced the original perfectly and functions as the original did when new.

1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased this to replace an ancient Moen faucet that still leaked around the base despite installation of a new valve assembly. Aesthetically, there is no comparison between the two, as the new Delta is much more flowing and graceful in appearance.
The most difficult part of the process was removal of the old faucet, as it had a large, single nut retaining it on the underside of the counter. The nut was too big in diameter to remove with a conventional faucet wrench, so I found it easier to drill through each side of the nut, splitting it in two for ease of removal. Only took less than 10 minutes to do so, without the use of special, cumbersome tools.
The instruction manual is well written and clear, with total installation time of perhaps a leisurely 15 minutes - which is a good thing considering that I removed it, rotated it and reinstalled it after the first few days of use.
The control handle can be oriented to the left, right or virtually any position desired. I chose to install it on the right, as shown in all illustrations and recommended in the manual. My household is comprised of right-handed people, so this seemed like the logical choice. However, we found that our natural usage involved approaching the faucet with a glass or utensil in our right hand. In order to operate the faucet, we had to either clumsily reach across over our right hands to activate it with our left, or switch the object to our left hand to free our right to operate the lever. The simple solution was to remove the entire assembly, rotate it and reinstall with the handle on the left. It is now much more convenient and instinctual to use.
I didn't install the soap dispenser, which would have required using a hole saw to cut an additional opening in the sink top. Additionally, since I believe it has to be filled by removing the container from the bottom, inside the cabinet, it was superfluous for us. Even though the price of the entire package is reasonable, it would have been nice to save a few bucks by not having it included. Obviously, it was not a deal-breaker.
Looks and works great, installs easily, well made and competitively priced. Very pleased with it in all respects.

Perfect replacement for Hampton Bay halogen pathway lights
I've been using these in one form or another for decades. By that I mean that Malibu/Intermatic later became available only from Home Depot, labeled as Hampton Bay. The halogen bulbed product is no longer available at all, as they moved to an identically styled integrated LED design. Since I use MR11 color LED bulbs, I need the old style stuff and was fortunate to have found this. This particular unit is the VERY old design that has a fully threaded body and base connection. (More expensive to produce, so was later replaced by a 1/8th-turn attachment). I also recently purchased a "Paradise" Lighting Estate Series model GL22601BK and found that all components from it interchange directly with the later Malibu/Intermatic/Hampton Bay halogen lights.
