Musical fidelity DAC’s
The V90 is one of two DAC’s that I own. The V 90 seems to be a little bit easier to use. The hook up is the same. As far as the overall sound it works well with my EL 34 push/pull “Audio Innovations ”amplifier. The bass is very adequate and the upper and is clear and pleasant to listen to! For the money it’s a very good product!

Pretty good for the money!
With an AC input voltage of +/- 12 you get warm heat sinks and hot resistors. Probably because the set voltage is 12 volts and the dc volts at the regulator is 17v so 5 volts has to be dropped some where. Perhaps the 470 ohm "hot" resistors could be replaced by higher wattage resistors and that would cool them down. Board construction is good, surface mount technology prevents home assembly. It does a good job of driving my 37ohm head phones, plenty of power! One negative about it is the fact that the manufacturer won't release the schematic. So, if your so inclined, you can't modify or troubleshoot the circuit card very well. As far as sound it seems to do a pretty good job. Plenty of bass and the treble is crisp. I don't know if the it would pass for an audiophile quality board. For most listening needs it's adequate.

Not extreme quality but quite good considering cost
I have yet to install the meters but ran a bench test. With an audio cd input the meters were over scale and couldn’t be adjusted down. I changed the resistance of the voltage divider circuit resistor from 100 ohms to 47 ohms. This provided more effective adjustment of meter deflection. The meter input soldering lugs pulled out of the back of the meter. Don’t know if it was a defect but I epoxied them back in on both meters. Other than that they seem to be working. I will know more over the long-term.
