This WPA Project is of a great historical value
Although, the Slave Narratives can be read online my preference are the book copies. The words of former slaves seem to be as exact as possible considering the memory and passage of time between events spoken of. The names of those being interviewed would be considered the index, with any names or locations connected to that individual not listed. For genealogy or family history purposes, the narratives need to be read through. The historical value to me is priceless.
