Better than my digital EOS cameras!
Excellent, smooth shooting, reliable camera. The one I purchased has at least 500 rolls on it, and it works like clockwork. It's a big advantage to be able to use all of Canon's modern full-frame lenses on this camera. I shoot with a lot of vintage cameras that all have their quirks... I used to carry my Canon 5D MK II as a backup to my film photography- just in case. Now I carry this instead, and my backup is on film!!! If you're a Canon EOS digital photographer, this would be the very best camera you could get to make the switch to film photography. You'll instantly have a strong comfort level. I particularly like the fact that this camera imprints a customizable number at the start of a roll. It also has quite a few customizable features. Just an over-all solid and reliable camera. Since i own a scanner that captures images at 7200 dpi (upwards of 60 megapixel equivalent), the images I get from this camera on something like Fuji Provia or Velvia slide film exceed the quality of my 5D MK II digital work. And, this camera can accept low ASA film ( often shoot with 25 or 50 ASA film... something a digital camera doesn't simulate ). I personally don't need the power grip for high-speed shooting... the camera is fast without it!

Great, affordable, versatile rangefinder 35mm film camera.
This is a full-featured 35mm rangefinder camera which allows manual aperture and exposure control, and has automatic exposure/aperture and flash capabilities. The mechanism is solid, with a firm feeling to the focus and other controls on the lens. The shutter button has a long range of motion, and is incorporated into the wind lever pivot. The camera also features a self timer, film transport indicator, battery check button, and an almost foolproof film loading mechanism. I have two other rangefinders, both from competitor Konica, the Auto S2 and Auto S3... this camera comes in somewhere in-between-- closer to the smaller size of the S3, yet heavier. Unlike the S3, this camera has the manual aperture controls. Note that the exposure meter will not read while you have set the aperture manually... only in "A" or auto mode. The camera prevents you from over or under exposing a shot when in Automatic mode. The camera has a range of 1/4s to 1/500s exposure, with a Bulb setting as well. You can use 25ASA to 800 ASA film. The lens has a very versatile range from f/1.7 to f/16. This is a professional-quality rangefinder disguised as a consumer camera. The camera is designed for a mercury PX-625 battery, but the Weincell equivalent works just fine, with accurate meter readings. Note that the lens cap is the on/off switch... if you get one of these without a cap, be sure to acquire one before using.
Kodak Double-X 35mm Black and White film in 24 Exposure rolls: Rapakpan XX!

Excellent film
If you want to shoot stills on this beautiful Kodak XX film, but don't want to buy bulk and roll it yourself, you have two choices: CineStill XX or Rapakpan. Rapakpan is more reliably available, and a better value. I've been shooting it for years. Beautiful film.
