Hanes - Tagless Long Sleeve T-Shirt with a Pocket - 5596
Dec 01, 2017
Long-sleeved T-shirt with pocket a good casual item
The Hanes long-sleeved pocketed T-shirt is a bit fuller than similar T-shirts from Gildan or Scandia Woods. I think it is the better value among them, and so I have ordered several times from Hanes. The sleeves are a bit longer. The shirt tails for all are ample enough. The pocket is big enough. The real issue is which shirt lasts the longest before the under-arm seam begins to unravel or tear. I think having a bit more room allows the Hanes T-shirt to last longer. I have them in about all the colors save orange. My experience is limited to the L and XL sizes.

TopFlite XL2000 sand wedge has average looks/specs with average performance
The TopFlite XL2000 sand wedge is an oversized clubhead made of Titan Steel, which is often called carpenter or maraging steel. It is a tougher steel with a little more spring to it than regular 431 or 17-4 stainless steel. It can be adjusted for lie and loft. The wedge itself has a medium thick sole with both heel-to-toe and front-to-back camber (curvature). The topline is medium thickness, the grooves are very clear, defined, and ordinary cast u-grooves. The address position looks like a classic iron, just oversized. The grip is a good rubber, but the model was introduced in 2000, so by today an original grip might be getting hard. The shaft in both steel and graphite bear the TopFlite name, so it is impossible to know their true manufacturer. The club is OK for both sand and turf. The length on full swings is ordinary. The specs for this club are 56 degrees loft, 64 degrees lie, length of 35" for steel and half inch more for graphite, .155" offset. Basically the club is a very average sand wedge in design, visuals, playability, and total performance. It does what it is supposed to do without any "WOW!" factor. I would not hesitate to put it in play because it is a classic-looking, fully functional sand wedge, but I would not want to pay a premium for this club.

Wilson Di11 irons improved over Di7 and Di9, but still need work
The Wilson Di series is in its fifth rendition with the Di11 irons. Each has been a steady improvement, and the wider sole on the Di11 over the Di9 and Di7 is good. The emphasis that most duffers like me hit the ball toward the toe of the club is a sound doctrine, and helping us on hits from the center out toward the toe is a good idea. The silver fat shaft is tastefully colored and does not appear to be fat down at the hosel - most people would not even notice it. The clubs do give good distance with a non-ballooning trajectory, but the distance seems to be inconsistent shot to shot. Three decent shots look nice at 150 yards, then for some reason the fourth feels just like the others but rockets off 170. That is disturbing when you are looking for accuracy and consistency. Also, the heel of the club is not relieved, and it is easy to dig it into the ground if you get the least bit flat on a swing. The grip is a Wilson moniker made by Lamkin, and is OK. The top line is a little thinner on the Di11 than the Di9 and Di7. You have to special order the 3-iron and Sand wedge, which is the typical Wilson low bounce. The wide soles mean only 2-deg of bounce on the 9-iron and P wedge, 3-deg on the G wedge, and only 8-deg on the 55-degree loft S wedge. Wilson is notorious for low bounce angles on its wedges, so they are for better strikers of the ball, or firm or coarse sand. The wedges are extensions of the other full-shot irons, and the wedges do not have desired rotational feel on the short, delicate shots. You can just whack 'em, but you can't really finesse the ball because of the lack of feedback on head location from these wedges during the swing. I wanted these new 2011 irons to become my preferred set of clubs, but they just weren't as consistent or versatile as two of my previous sets. I still own them, but they are gathering dust.
