For more than just pencils
I bought this pencil sharpener with the intention of using it for sharpening wooden cake dowels that I use for stacking cakes that I decorate for events. The dowels have to be sharp enough to go through the cake as well as the cardboard rounds that the cake layers sit upon. I keep it strictly for this purpose no chance of cross contamination with graphite. Love it! Very old world craftsmanship - very heavy duty.
