Evil Things (DVD, 2011)

A fun movie for an evening of popcorn and treats
This movie is about a group of college students -- three girls and two guys-- who are on their way to a vacant house one of their aunts own in the woods. Very isolated. One of the guys happens to be very camera happy and has a brand new HD camcorder. So he's filming the entire trip from start to finish. On the way to the cabin, an older van starts playing road games with the car full of students, and they do their best to avoid him. Eventually they get to the cabin, and settle in for some r & r. That's where the fun begins. This is like one of those "found at crime scene" videos with candid action. It's a fun distraction and worth at least a viewing with friends. If you go in with those expectations you won't be disappointed. Try it out, might be fun!

Rockville SPG88 8" Inch Passive 400w DJ PA Speaker ABS Lightweight Cabinet 8 Ohm

Excellent surprising performance from an 8" cabinet!
First of all, Audiosavings always delivers. This is the third purchase I've made from them. Before I started buying Rockville, I was a hardcore Behringer guy. Behringer provides outstanding equipment for the cost. But this new up and coming company Rockville is giving them a run for the money. A while back I bought two Rockville 110 passive cabs from Audiosavings and they were excellent. I don't play big rooms, and as I'm an older player, I wanted something lighter. So I thought I'd try Rockville. Well, the two 110's are excellent and so are these 108 cabinets. When it arrived (well packed in a heavy duty carton with styrofoam inserts to prevent shifting) I pulled the cabinet out. As I didn't have a p.a. head to try it out I used my Gallien Krueger MB200 with a bass guitar. WHEW! This little cab rocks! It sounded excellent and had PLENTY of bottom end. Plus it had a sweet crispness for high end. I won't be using these for bass but I know they will be great monitors that will add volume and some bottom end onstage to hear myself and the backing tracks I use. Plus they're nice enough I could use two cabs for a small gig. The cabinets were well packed in the box and upon unboxing, I examined them. Very tight, clean construction. Two Speakon connectors! You don't find that on economy speakers! These were obviously designed for professional use. The cabinets can be used on a stand, lay upright on a floor, or angled back for monitors. I plan on using two of these as tilted back monitors. If I had any regrets, it's the fact that shipping the cab almost cost as much as the cabinet! I live in Alaska so that explains the expense. However, the cabinet was well packed, heavy carton, and it arrived very quickly. I wish Audiosavings would us USPS, but for the extra money it's nice to have FedEx drop the speaker on my porch for convenience. :-) I would highly recommend these cabinets from Audiosavings. I plan on getting a Rockville powered mixer and 110 Passive Woofer to add more low end to my system. I imagine I'll be able to play some pretty nice smaller venues with the cabinets. Buy them, you won't be sorry!
