Good low-priced answering machine
Does everything I want it to do. Have only used for a week, so I do not know about durability.

First volume of 12-book series is well-written, introduces some interesting characters but has little plot.
I did not read the words behind the stars. I expected the book to be very good and it is well-written, but the story is not compelling. It is the first of a planned series of 12 novels, so I expect the story to get better with the later novels. It does give an interesting picture of British prep schools about 80 years ago. I recommend it only to students of English literature or modern history. I do not think it would be a best-seller today because of the lack of plot, but I enjoyed reading it.

Older book still worth reading.
You have to like literature to enjoy this book. There is not a lot of plot, mostly interesting people living their daily lives. What makes the book worth reading is the commentary and the analysis of what they are thinking. It also gives insights into the general thought and values in Britain during the first half of the 20th century. This is the third in a series of 12 novels that make up the Dance of Time. I have read only the first five and so do not have a complete picture of the entire work.
