Otherworldly, hauntingly sad
First saw Bao Ninh on the Ken Burns's Vietnam War documentary. I discovered this book accidentally, while searching for books on Operation Wandering Soul...I was hoping it would be good...within 15 pages, I was haunted. You may never find these stories, or this perspective, first-hand from the Vietnamese, on the American/Vietnam War, ever again. It stands alone.
