A definite but mild upgrade
Definitely provides a more comfortable space for hands but feels like a 35% improvement, not quite the magic I was expecting. It's still the way hand grips should be shaped so I'd recommend the upgrade. I've only had two rides since installation. First ride I had the angle too steep relative to the ground. Flattened them out (palm rest and bar end more horizontal) and instantly improved the feel.
I bought these because my hands were buzzing and experiencing slight numbness from riding. I still feel the tingling but it's reduced, hence the "35%" guess. They are listed as, "carbon bar compatible". I use a Syntace carbon riser and they installed fine with no torque slipping so far when riding. But carbon bars are thicker than aluminum or the straight titanium bar I replaced so installation requires special plug ends. The shaped, plastic end plugs these grips come with will not fit so I had to use the metallic plugs I had.
Also, those metallic plugs are an integral part of the bar's structural strength if one wants to use bar ends on a carbon bar. (my Ergon grips included bar ends). It's not safe to clamp grips on without them as it stresses the carbon in a direction it's not intended to be stressed. So there seems to be an engineering oversight with the Ergon product for that situation since these grips depend on clamping friction to stop them from torque twisting in use instead of just friction as standard grips would. For me, the carbon bar using the OEM metallic plugs and not the Ergon plastic plugs worked, otherwise I'd have to return them.
They look good, matching my titanium ride's gray and black, they are pliant but not soft, and installation was very easy due to the installation position being based upon the clamping end and not friction. The grip position is independent of the bar end angle so it will take a bit of experimenting to find he best positioning but that's easy to do through one screw that hold it all together.

Does the job
Could be a bit taller. Could be a bit wider.

Good with a small problem
The switches are fine but the soldered leads are fragile. Bending the long, stiff lead out of the way to fit cracks them off so re-soldering is necessary.
