We encourage all sellers to offer a competitive return policy; you can choose to offer anything from no returns to 60-day free returns depending on your business model.

Returns and the eBay Money Back Guarantee

When you receive a return request from a buyer, we’ll send a message to your registered email address and to your eBay Messages. When the buyer opens their return request, you have three business days to respond to the request and resolve their issue. For more information on how to process a return, visit our Help page.

In addition to returns, the eBay Money Back Guarantee means buyers are protected if the item they ordered didn’t arrive, is faulty or damaged, or doesn’t match the listing. In those specific cases, you will be required to provide a replacement, return or refund.

Returns on eBay labels

Sellers offering a return for transactions within Canada are able to use our on-platform label printing service, eBay Labels, to ensure a more seamless return shipping experience. 

This feature is currently available only for domestic returns, with the process of issuing a return changing based on whether the buyer or seller pays for return shipping. 

If your buyer pays for return shipping

If your domestic return policy involves the buyer paying for return shipping, they will simply be able to purchase and print their shipping label on eBay after you have accepted the return request.
