However, I only used about 2% to 3% of it. based on the number of pages I actually read for what I needed.

It has 178 pages of black powder loading/velocity/pressure tables, including shot shells. I know of no other source for some of this data.

It may be a good primer for the novice, although a great deal of the data will be beyond what the beginner can assimilate.

Do I recommend it? Maybe.

Is it a good value? Some of the data is unique to this book. If you need that data, then it is essential, even if it costs you $10 per page. I would suggest the reader find an actual copy at a library or a friend and look it over to judge for yourself.Read full review

Didn't help me much

Great for Rifle calibers, but leaves much to be desired for shotgun. Bought specifically for 10ga shotgun loads. Only loads they have are for 3-1/2" shells. They were NOT used in the black powder era. There are NO loads for 10ga that can be used in antique guns in period 2-1/2 thru 2-7/8" chambers.Read full review

Excellent info for anything Black Powder. Whether new to this or a great refresher.

Entire back section is "loading data" for rifles and "cap and ball" pistols. Round ball and minie balls too.

Published by Lyman so there is a ton of data on Lyman rifles with specific barrel length and loadings. Both Black Powder and Subsititutes like Pyrodex.
