A must have if you are taking precalculus math!

I purchased this because I wanted to review algebra after decades out of college. When I was in college this kind of calculator was only a science fiction dream. The high tech device back them was the slide rule--which I never fully conquered. I am happy with the purchase. My granddaughter will be taking algebra I in high school this Fall and when she spotted it on my desk she immediately knew what it was and said she may have to buy one if the school does not provide one for free. So it is definitely a must have if you plan to study high school or college level math courses.

It is not that easy to work sometimes. I found I needed to purchase the Graphing Calculator Manual by Judith A Penna (I had already owned her Precalculus textbook)to learn how to use this machine to solve textbook problems. Even with this book, some of the functions did not work as predicted. I emailed TI assistance weeks ago and never heard back from them. So I had to figure it out myself. This was a blessing in disguise because it forced me to work at it until I got it right.

This is a great calculator. I've never used a graphing calculator before but I have to say this has impressed me. The ability to download programs that help with calculation is one of the best features of this phone. I've tried it and it has worked perfectly. So far no problems. I bought this for the price I paid. My math course required a TI-83 or Higher. and the features were better for the same or better price.Read full review...

This is the most balanced and relaible Graphics Calculator I have ever used. It has the right blend of advanced features inside a robust and reliable package. Sure, you don't have color displays or backlit screens, but the batteries last really long, and you still have advanced computation features. Rock solid and reliable product. Fine calculator with features not found in in TI 83. For instance, TI 84 can display an answer as fraction, mixed number, decimal, or form matching input.. Many schools require students to have this calculator, or something similar. Were it not for this requirement, I would recommend people use a scientific calculator, price less than $20, and rely on free software, like Geogebra or Desmos, for graphs.Read full review...

Wonderful Calculator!!

This calculator works wonderfully and works just like a regular TI-84. It is very big too, and has an even larger screen that the TI-84. I love that you can switch out the keypad for others for other types of math. Although the one I was bought was used it works perfectly and has very little cosmetic damage! Slight inconvenience = big discount

It's a good calculator, I don't really care that it was missing a pixel line because it got me a significant discount. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that this isn't the edition that can easily arrow up into your history to select or delete previous queries, but that's not a must-have feature so it's fine. Ti-84 Plus Silver Calculator review

I was in High School studying top-of-the-line calculus for college credits. I had a Ti-89 Titanium, borrowed from school. However when I'm prepping for college, I realized that my college doesn't want the smartness of Ti-89, but instead they prefer Ti-84 for the non-calculus calculation abilities so that we students have to calculate it ourselves. It is a great calculator in terms of speed and workability comparing to a $8 Ti-85 I've bought. It graphs quickly and displays items that are highly useful. Also I've used it in my college-level statistics class for statistics calculation. Would be great for Algebra 2 / PreCalculus / College Calculus students

but watch the divisions inside Ti-84.... it has regular/plus and plus silver. Please choose Plus silver since it's no more than few bucks but buying some efficient brain inside the calculator!Read full review...
