Fantastic Laptop

The Retina display on this MacBook Pro is simply stunning. If you have never used one you will be blown away by its quality (color, pixel density, resolution). New-2-Me

The unit itself arrived in excellent condition...hardly looked used at all. The price was acceptable and it was the same year model as my recently deceased MacBook Pro so all of my chargers, cords, and gadgets will work with the new one. My issue was with it's internal workings. I was not able to transfer my information/files to the new-to-me MacBook Pro. I had to take it to a local APPLE store and have their assistance in getting everything up and running. It seems APPLE ended their support of Yosemite OS in 2019 and MANY current security features and lots of software are no longer compatible...you know, little things like passwords, mail and iCloud.. I was aware the new-to-me MacBook Pro was running Yosemite OS but had no idea it would not work for even what little I need a computer for. After almost two hours of assistance, finding a work-a-round to update the OS and lots and lots of assistance from the Genius Bar, I was able to leave with a MacBook Pro that will do the basics...which is really all I needed. Great Computers on ALL Fronts:

i have actually purchased/sold/kept 5 of these devices. The Mac Book Pro is probably one of the greatest computers ever made since the Windows XP Operating System & the Windows 98SE OS. i was always a Windows/PC man. i HATED Macs & anything related to Mac (including Pro Tools..which BTW started as a TOTALLY indigenous software for Mac)..after 1st getting the Macbook (2010 White Unibody)..then fixing & installing Yosemite in a Macbook Unibody 2009 "A1181"..i fell in love with Macs..unlike Windows, Macs are ready to go from the gate..you don't need to do ANY tweaking or adjustments..once you set up your account..you're off to the races (laughing).

I purchased my 1st MBP (MacBook Pro) about 5 months ago. then i bought 4 more..& i sold 2 of them. the Macbooks i bought were 8GB of RAM max, but the speed was crazy..even with the single core 2010 i7 Mac..it's apparent that you're dealing with a big dog (smile)..the i5 versions are dual core..(this means that if you're running a 2.4GHz processor..there are 2 cores that can run at that speed..kinda like one muscular man running a single core..as opposed to 2 fit men running 2 cores)..the MBP also has about ANY & EVERY port you'll ever need..EXCEPT OF HDMI..(those didn't come out until the later 2012 models & up)..then the later 2012 & up models got rid of the DVD drive, the Thunderbolt port, & replaced the ports with an HDMI port..so if ANYONE is looking for HDMI in their Macs..you'll need to get a LATE 2012 model & up..the MBP (2011 and down) has a Thunderbolt (Firewire) port..2 USB 2.0 ports..a couple of SD ports..Ethernet port..& a magnetic charger port..the screen a damned good & will support 1920x1080p DVI..(like i said..no HDMI for the earlier models..you'll need a mini-DVI adapter & a 3.5" stereo jack to get both a/v)..

In all?? a great computer for the novice up to the oficiando. & remember: with ALL Macs..they are NOT made for work. they're made for media (art, music, video, etc)..so if you're into making videos for YouTube, if you're into using ProTools (or Ableton) to do some music, OR!!?? if you want to design a website (or clothing blueprints)..the Mac is PERFECT for you..now if you want to file your taxes & you own Lord & Taylor (laughing)?? then you need to get Windows 10..LOL..As Always..thank you all so much..Peace..& God bless..

For the skeptics, have faith

I honestly was skeptical about this because let’s be honest making a big purchase of any kind would be frightening who know the type of computer they prefer (or any technology for that matter).
>It came not only on time, but they accepted an offer for $25 less. When it got here I updated the system and it had some little Desktop error but I looked up how to fix it and with the help of a friend I was able to reinstall Mac OSX and even update again properly and it’s up to date and I’m running my software editing programs with ease. Trust these guys because they even emailed me back in a very timely fashion with help even though my friend had already helped me.

Outstanding Computer this Mac.

We love this Mac. Very easy to use with excellent ergonomics and the display absolutely rocks. I purchased this Mac for my wife who is currently using a Sony laptop which has served us very well. I'm supposed to get the Sony after she is done with her current courses. I'm afraid she is in for a rude awakening. I don't want to give this Mac up for the Sony. Apple MacBook Pro is a superb performance and visual experience

The MacBook Pro is my preferred Laptop computer. I ordered this one after I Shutdown my 2009 model, I couldn't get it to power up again, the Mac repair technician couldn't figure out why it wouldn't power on, and stated it would probably be cheaper to buy a new computer rather than try fixing the old one. The increased memory, 1GB graphic card , 500GB Solid State Hard Drive and Retina Display gives consistently superb performance and visual experiences. My only complaints with this MacBook is no FireWire port or Disk drive. I had to buy an Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter for $29, to connect to my Analog to Digital Video converter, and an Apple USB SuperDrive for $79, to watch DVDs while traveling, which is just another piece of equipment I have to pack.Read full review...

The Best Overall Value Macbook

I’ve had my Macbook Pro for a couple weeks now and it runs great. No lagging issues and can handle Garageband and multiple Chrome tabs open at once. Apple products age very well.

My only issues with it are this: The laptop does run a bit hot when using for a long time, maybe 2-3 hours. The battery didn’t last as long as I hoped but, the newest update of macOS Catalina 10.15.5 this month made it much better! Keep in mind this is just specific to my Macbook Pro. This is simply a feat of engineering. It is perfect for everything I need to do, its really light, fastest Apple laptop out there. With all of the expansion options through thunderbolt it makes the computer even better.
