Hidden Figures

We watched this intriguing movie and really liked it. It tugged at our hearts' strings at the ignorance of the people in dealing with race. This movie showed how people were considered as "machines" despite their advanced knowledge.of math. It was amazing to
see how these ladies, especially the main character, used her grace and stood up for herself a couple of times....and enacted change because of it.
The racial issues were hard to look at, but I was proud of the main boss for changing things (like the bathroom issue) and tearing down the things that needed it. I also liked how he gave the main character the honor due her at the end of the movie.
Wonderful movie. I've always been one to give people who are decent human beings the chance they deserve...whatever race they are.

by TOP CRITICAL REVIEW

Ok to watch if you got nothing better to do.

Was not a very good documentary because really there was no element of real seriousness to the film as a whole. I did like the story line but for a documentary I really did not get a feel of real life. Read full review

Hidden Figures is one of the best movies I have seen. Educational and fascinating !

Loved the movie when i saw it on Dish Network. I had no idea that women worked at NASA. I didn't know the math and calculations required for Go-no Go, and liftoff and re-entry were so critical. I have a whole new respect for NASA, the engineers, math experts, and those that get us into space.
This movie was great when I saw it on on Dish Network so---- I had to have my own copy for my collection.
The characters were great, performances were perfect, and the story line was most interesting.

OMG what a movie!

I was on the edge of my seat watching this wonderful and delightful movie. I had my son watch with me and he has Asperger’s syndrome and he jumped up and down cheering for each of the individual black women. I never heard of this true story about all the intelligent black women that worked at NASA. My other son saw us watching this and said it was one of the best movies ever made. He happened to work at a movie theater when it came out and it stayed there for almost a year. I just can’t praise the writers and especially the actors. Kevin heads this all star cast. There are too many wonderful black actresses to name so buy it and enjoy. It’s a keeper!!!Read full review

Great historic family movie.

Hidden Figures is a great historic movie that the whole family can watch. It was light and entertaining while also reminding of how recent the Civil Rights movement was. It does not have the potty language of Manchester by the Sea (which my family hated). There are no Oscars here, just some good natured fun. Enjoy!Read full review

Relevant, humorous, and inspirational delivery of a true story

An inspiring, humorous and realistic depiction of the true-story struggles of three women - who represent an entire generation of black women in the 1960's endeavoring to receive fair and equitable treatment in the workplace. This movie shines a light on the untold contributions of support staff in one of the greatest accomplishments of our era, putting a man into space. It reveals how critical functions can fall to the shoulders of one, or a handful of key players, and how these players can emerge from the most unexpected places. And it also recognizes the humanity of the supervisors and managers that put aside cultural and racial differences in order to cultivate an atmosphere where genius can emerge and catapult a nation into greatness.Read full review

Watch again and again!

The movie is very educational to just how bad this country was. Thank goodness for these ladies who stood up for themselves and showed their bosses the error of their ways....
