Always a Good Read
The Brother Cadfael series of books are truly great. Peters does her research so the reader slips seamlessly out of today and into the world of the 1100s; to an England torn by civil war. Although each book is roughly the same size - about 200 pages - nothing of the story is lacking or hurried or forced. The characters are never cookie-cutter creations, but living, breathing people who create a mystery or who can help solve it. If you love a good mystery and love the world of the past, invest in each of the Brother Cadfael Mysteries.
