Fees & financials

We’re committed to building a vibrant marketplace that simplifies selling and delivers more buyers to you. To support that goal, we adjust our selling fees from time to time.

We’re continuously investing in our marketplace to help you manage your business more efficiently, accelerate your sales velocity, and bring more buyers to you. Behind the scenes, we continuously invest in our platform to deliver the trusted and reliable experience you and your buyers expect.

We’re making adjustments to final value fees, and reducing the cost of select optional listing upgrades that give buyers more purchase options and make it easier for you to manage your listings. We’re also expanding the fee credit we give you when you provide great service by fully refunding a buyer’s return.

Final value fee changes

Starting April 1, 2023, final value fees will increase 0.35% in most categories. For example, sellers with an eBay Store who sell in the eBay Motors Parts & Accessories category will see an increase from 12.0% to 12.35%, a difference of 0.35%. Final value fees for sellers without an eBay Store will also increase 0.35% in most categories. For example, sellers who sell in the Home & Garden  category without a Store will see an increase from 12.9% to 13.25%, a difference of 0.35%. Final value fees in Trading Card categories will not increase. Sellers with a Store listing in most Tires & Wheels categories will see a fee decrease of up to 1.65%.

We strive to maintain the lowest selling fees in the industry, and our fees may vary in some categories.

Expanding our per-order fee credit

Last year we announced that we’ll give your $0.30 per-order fee back to you when you approve a buyer’s cancellation request before you shipped your item. Based on positive feedback we received from sellers, we’re expanding the per-order fee credit to when you provide excellent service to the buyer by issuing a full refund. Starting April 1, 2023, when a buyer returns an item for any of the following reasons, we’ll extend the $0.30 credit to returns that you voluntarily refund.

  • Ordered by mistake 

  • Don’t like it 

  • Changed my mind 

  • Doesn't fit 

  • Found a better price 

We’ll also credit the $0.30 per-order fee when you issue a full refund through the Send refund flow, or if you receive a payment dispute for an unauthorized transaction.

Changes to Optional Listing Upgrades

Starting April 1, 2023, Bold and Gallery Plus listing upgrade fees will no longer be based on the auction starting price or Buy it Now item price. Both optional listing upgrades will be charged one low fee, regardless of the starting price or item price. As a reminder, scheduled listings and Buy it Now upgrades for auction-format listings are already free for all Canadian eBay sellers.
